Less than a year ago, fans and NY media calling for the head of Tom Coughlin. We've heard names like Charlie Weiss (ND How's Charlie doing this year?) Bill Cowher, Bill Parcells and a slew of others. Now Tom Coughlin is set to do for this team that has not been done since Parcells was the coach of the last century.

Following Sunday's contest, chalking and a victory over the Lions, Giants New York are about to do something this franchise has not made a very long time, go to the playoffs three consecutive years.

Holding a 7 to 3 response, staring a Viking opponent who is about as incompatible can get a franchise, the Giants control truly their own destiny.

Over the next 6 weeks, the Giants schedule is as follows:

. vs. Minnesota (4-6)

Chicago (4-6)

Philadelphia (5-5)

. vs. Washington (5-5)

Buffalo (5-5)

. vs. New England (10000 – 0)

Obviously being a little facetious about the Pats, but you get the point. For now you can say that the game is Pats loss (although I think they will win this one). Each of the 5 games remaining others are earned, and two against teams they have already beaten, Philadelphia and Washington.

By the end of the season, the Giants could easily be 12 to 4. However, in most seasons would represent first place, and in 2000 was worth the # 1 seed in the conference. However, as Dallas and Green Bay played (two teams who have beaten the Giants), division and a bye in 1st round almost went out the window 2 weeks ago, when the Giants lost to the Cowboys at home.

If one believes the Giants record this season when they beat the settling of the NFL and the fight against good teams, then this team should not probably finish in 12 to 4.

With the announcement of Kiwianuka now for years and Jacobs over a week from week, how will these two injuries affect the Giants are going forward? Without a doubt the largest of the two losses is Kiwianuka. The Giants lose Rusher really good passer, and the scramble crossing giants is what hides the low side they have.

Jacobs is not a huge loss, because if you remember, he got early in the season, Ward was able to intervene and make a real Nice work. However, the Giants have no such luxury in the future, Ward was released as well. In steps Mr. Droughns. Giants GM Jerry Reese is now looking like a genius of the trade that sent WR ever seen Tim Carter for Droughns to the Browns. Droughns fill nicely, and with rookie 7th round draft pick Ahmad Bradshaw show his speed, last Sunday, he will certainly give the racing game with a nice lift as well.

Regardless of their injuries, the fact remains, this team of giants like the team the year last control their own destiny. If they fulfill their destiny, come end of the season, they made history and Coach Coughlin is sure to get Nice extension.
